Deleting a domain from your Squarespace site is relatively simple. If you’re the owner of the domain, it’s as easy as logging into your account and navigating to Domains > Manage domains. You will see a list of domains that are associated with your Squarespace account.
Simply click on the domain you want to delete, and then click on the Delete this domain button.
Once you have deleted a domain, it will no longer be visible in your site. However, if you need to add another domain later, simply log into your account, navigate to Domains > Manage domains, and add the new domain.

How To Setup Your Domain In Squarespace
When setting up your domain, you should make sure that it is in the same TLD (top level domain) as Squarespace. This means that if you set up your domain name on Google, you will need to move it to Squarespace. If the two TLDs do not match, then that could cause errors in your website’s hosting.
To get started with the setup process, follow these steps:
Go to https://www.squarespace.com/domains and click on “Create a Domain” button.
The next page will ask you to enter the details for your new domain, including its name, description, and email address. You can also add a privacy policy and choose other options like whether or not it’s private.
After you have entered all of your information, click the “Create” button at the bottom of the page.
You will be taken to a confirmation page where you will see a message from Squarespace confirming that your domain has been created successfully. If everything looks good, click “Proceed” to complete the setup process.
How To Add And Transfer Domain Name In Squarespace
It’s very easy to add a domain name in Squarespace. If you already own an existing domain name, it’s as easy as visiting your registrar and completing the transfer process. If you don’t have a domain name yet, you can start by creating a custom URL at Squarespace.
com using any keyword or phrase that you want to use for your site. Once you’ve completed that step, head over to the Domains tab in your Squarespace account and choose Add a Domain Name.
If you already own an existing domain name, visit your registrar to complete the transfer process.

Does Squarespace Give You A Domain?
As a web host, Squarespace does not provide you with a domain name. However, it does give you the option to buy one from them. If you choose to use one of their domain names, you will be charged $12.
99 per year. Keep in mind that the domain name you buy is tied to your website’s IP address and can only be used on the same plan as your website. For example, if you buy a one-year domain name, then your site will only be able to be accessed through the IP address assigned to that domain name.
It is also important to note that it may take up to 30 days for Squarespace to accept payment for a domain name purchase.
From an SEO standpoint, it is generally recommended not to use a domain name that is owned by someone other than yourself. This prevents third-parties from buying up your keywords and preventing them from ranking for those keywords.
It also makes it easier for search engines to understand who owns which listing and gives them more accurate search results.
Can I Move My Domain Away From Squarespace?

How Do I Claim My Domain From Squarespace?
If you are a Squarespace customer, you can claim your domain name directly from your Squarespace account. To do so, follow the steps below:
To claim your domain name, navigate to the Domains section under your Settings. Click Add Domain > Next.
Enter the domain name you wish to add and select “I have an existing DNS entry for this domain”. Select “Use for website” and then click Transfer.
Once your domain is transferred to your account, it will be listed in the Domains section under Settings with a green check mark next to it.
You can now use this domain in any URL you choose.
What Happens If You Stop Paying For Squarespace?
If you stop paying for Squarespace or if you cancel your account, we will keep your website up and running until the end of its current billing cycle. After that, your website will be deleted. If you have unpaid invoices, we will continue to bill your credit card on a monthly basis.
What happens if you cancel with a pro-rated invoice?
If you cancel with a pro-rated invoice, we will delete your website after the end of its current billing cycle. Then, we’ll start billing your credit card on a pro-rated basis beginning one month after the deletion date.
(Note: Canceling an invoice with a full invoice term doesn’t result in a deletion date.) We can’t refund any fees already charged to your card.
Will I get a refund?
Yes. At the end of each billing cycle, we’ll send you an email asking if you want to keep the website. If you’re still on Squarespace, we’ll process a partial refund for that period of time.
If you’ve cancelled, we’ll process a full refund for the remainder of the term.
How do I know when my invoice is due?
We send an email reminder about two weeks before each payment due date.
Is It Worth Paying For Squarespace?
If you’re looking to create a website without having to spend thousands of dollars, Squarespace is definitely worth considering. It is a great option if you are just starting out and don’t have a whole lot of money to spare. It’s also a good option if you are on a budget, but still want to have your own website.
One thing to keep in mind is that it isn’t necessarily the cheapest option out there. You will pay more than what you would with something like WordPress. However, if you are on a budget and don’t want to spend any money, it is still worth looking into.

Is Squarespace Domain Free?

Can You Own A Domain Name Outright?
If you’re purchasing a domain name for $10 or less, then you can own that domain name outright. However, if you are purchasing a domain name from a registrar, then it is possible to register the domain name that you have purchased with the registrar, but it will be registered through them. This means that you will have to pay the registrar a set amount for the registration and hosting of your domain name.
There are two main types of domains: Registered and Unregistered. Registered domains are given an address such as “www.example.
com” where Unregistered domains do not have an address yet. You can register these names using any number of mechanisms. Generally speaking, though, if you want to keep your domain name in your control, then you should go with an Unregistered domain.
While it may be tempting to register a Registered domain so that you can use it immediately after purchase, this is not recommended. Because most registrars require three months to transfer a Registered domain name from one owner to another (or longer), it is likely that someone else would have already grabbed that name by the time your registration is complete.
How Do I Transfer My Domain From Squarespace To Google?
You can transfer your domain from Squarespace to Google in just a few steps. First, you need to sign up for a new G Suite account, which costs $5 per month. Then, you need to click the “Transfer Domain” button on the Domains + DNS area of the account settings menu.
After that, you need to follow Google’s instructions for transferring your domain (which usually involves using the web-based tools provided by both websites). After transferring your domain, all of your content will be automatically imported into Google’s system.
The only thing left to do is wait for your domain to be processed by Google.

They take about 48 hours to see live once you’ve activated them (they don’t take that long for customers who already have their domains hosted elsewhere though).

How Do I Cancel My Squarespace But Keep My Domain?
If you want to cancel your Squarespace but keep your domain, you’ll need to contact your current registrar and request they transfer ownership of your domain. You can usually do this by contacting the “Name Server” listed on the WHOIS information page of your domain name. Once you’ve transferred ownership of your domain, you can go back to Squarespace and cancel your account there.
Note that if you’re using a third-party DNS provider like DynDNS or Google’s Public DNS, they may still retain ownership of the actual domain name even after you’ve transferred it to another registrar. In that case, you’ll need to contact them directly to request a transfer.
