The easiest way to remove people from Messenger is to do it from the contact list in the app. To do this, open the Messenger app and tap on the “Contacts” icon. Select the contact you want to delete and tap on “Delete”.
This will immediately remove that person from your contact list.
There are some other ways to remove people from Messenger, such as going into the main phone contacts and deleting them.

If you want to remove contact from messenger who are not in friend list, then here is the process. First of all, you will have to login to your account and on the left side, you will have to click on the messenger icon and that will take you to the main screen. After that, click on the three dots located at the top right corner and from the drop down menu, select ‘Privacy and Safety’.
There, you will have to click on ‘Block’ or ‘Report’ button which is available next to the name of that individual who is not in your Friend list. By doing this, you will be able to permanently block them from accessing your account.
